20 Year Temperature Low

The 30th of June 2010  has gone down in the record books for producing the coldest morning in June in the last 20 years. Locals were looking for jumpers, surfers even dusted off the weties and some houses were even firing up the old fire place!

Just before the sun spread its warmth on the Clarence Valley, the neighbouring city of Grafton was recorded at an icy low of 1 degress celsius. Grafton has previously recorded a freezing -2 degrees celsius, while Yamba did not get below 0, Yamba hit 5.7 degress celsius on that freezing coldmorning almost 20 years ago to the day in 1990.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) stats gurus, June has delivered lower than average temeratures in the area. Grafton’s June average minimum was 7.7 degrees, while Yamba has recorded an average 10.8 degrees celsius.
