Libby Trickett, Australia’s golden girl of the pool stopped unannounced on the Clarence River Masters Swim Club’s Aussi Masters meet on Saturday (12th June, 2010).
During her flying visit Libby took the time to chat with athletes that would be grateful if they were half as quick in the water as the Olympic gold medallist. Libby passed on a lot of her secret tips and also showed a high interest in Masters swimming by asking the swimmers many questions herself.
The Aussi Masters meet attracted swimmers from Queensland, Victoria and other parts of New South Wales for the two day event. The age of the swimmers ranged greatly from 20’s to 80s.
The event has been running for over 10 years and is suitable for anyone keen to jump in to the 25 meter pool. Speed is not an issue, the event is about participating as some of the swimmers take 13 to 40 seconds to cover the 25 meters.
