Yamba is not a well known whale watching destinations unlike other places along the East Coast. But the whale watching opportunities are just as good if not better then any other you can find. With or without a pair of binoculars you could site on top of Yamba’s Lighthouse Hill, Breakwall, Lovers Point or Angourie Point and watch the whales play and travel up the coast line. If you are more personal encounter with the whales, I suggest you make your way to the Yamba Marina and look up Rockfish Cruises to organise a day trip.
Below is some whale watching footage by Rockfish Cruises in 2009.
